Super Replacement Clutch for Škoda Spartak, 445, 450, Octavia, Felicia, 1200-3

Every owner of a ŠKODA Spartak, Octavia, Felicia, 1200, 1201, or 1202 knows the engine clutch's typical characteristic: unpleasant judder when pulling away.

Some owners naturally want to preserve this unpleasant but original characteristic. For everyone else who is tired of the jerking and judder and would like to eliminate this design imperfection, there is finally a proven solution that is also fairly easy to install in the car. And at a reasonable price.

Everything is new: pressure plate, flywheel, bearing, clutch disc, and more.

For ŠKODA vehicles

• 440, 445, 450 (Spartak + cabrio): from series 30, engine number 338351.
• Octavia, Felicia, 1202: without restriction.
• 1200–1: from series ??, engine number 364201. It can also be used on the first versions with the narrower clutch.

Replacement procedure – intended for a professional automotive mechanic

1. Remove the gearbox from the vehicle.
2. Remove the pressure plate together with the complete flywheel; they will no longer be used. Only the crankshaft flange remains on the vehicle.
3. Separate the pressure plate from the flywheel of the new complete clutch by removing the six bolts. Remember the position of the locating pin and hole.
4. Thoroughly (!!!) degrease the entire new clutch assembly, except for the clutch's plain bearing. Use spray degreaser; see the table.
5. Fit the new flywheel to the crankshaft, insert the clutch disc, and close the assembly with the pressure plate using six M6 bolts tightened to 12 Nm. Center the clutch disc.
6. Reinstall the gearbox in the vehicle.
7. With this new clutch, the distance between the clutch release levers and the disc is no longer adjusted. If necessary, adjust only the pedal travel directly at the pedal.

Additional information about the kit and replacement

• SUPERSPOJKA replaces the pressure plate with release levers.
• It is intended for installation in a professional workshop. On some vehicles, play in the pedal linkage, gearbox shaft mounting, and similar points adds up. With this clutch, 1 mm of play consumes 4 mm of release travel, and the clutch then works incorrectly or not at all.
• The essentials are a tall cast-iron sleeve, preferably part 109152181 from the Š 1203, fork 105152610, and PLC 24-2 bearing with a projection, which is included in the kit.
• If the release height is still insufficient, which sometimes happens, the easiest solution is to insert one or more spacer washers between the pressure plate and flywheel. Grease will simply hold the washer in place during assembly. The washers are already included with the clutch.
• Warning: The flywheel depth follows the drawing documentation. If it is altered by machining, clutch life will be minimal!
• For the future, we have splined release shaft 105520181 in production. Its carrier can easily be repositioned for the particular vehicle to set the clutch travel.
