Ambulance

The ambulance version of the Škoda 1202 continued the tradition of the earlier 1200 and 1201 models. Produced in Vrchlabí and adapted to meet the needs of medical and emergency services. The vehicle featured a spacious interior with room for a stretcher, accompanying personnel, and basic medical equipment.

Period technical documents and drawings record the development and various versions – from early prototypes to full production models. These differed in small bodywork details such as the shape of the grille, bumper sections, or the ŠKODA lettering on the hood.

The rear axle and frame design were gradually improved to increase load capacity and stability. Technical specifications from 1965–1967 confirm further updates that enhanced reliability and interior ergonomics.

Škoda 1202 ambulances also appear in period photographs and articles – for example, during the events of 1968 in Prague, where they served as part of the city’s emergency fleet.

The dimensions, drawings, and period documentation show that the Škoda 1202 Ambulance was an essential part of the Czechoslovak medical vehicle fleet of the 1960s.
