Mr. Arkadi Gaidamaka

Škoda 1202 STW (1965)
I’m sending a few photos of my cars (1201 and 1202) for your gallery. I’ll be restoring them soon; both are in original condition. I’m surprised that the 1200–1202 series is rarer in Europe than the Spartak or Octavia.
Attached please find some photos of my two Škoda cars. You can put them in your site gallery. This is a 1958 model 1201 “Station Wagon” and a 1965 model 1202 “Sanitka.” Both in original, self-running condition.

Dear Mr. Licka, thank you for the photos and kind information. I understand you – the Š 1202 also captivated me due to my childhood spent in it in Iran. Sincerely, V. Vaněček.

5/2009 – I’ve made some progress with the vehicle restoration and am already planning the finishing touches.

Dear Mr. Vaněček, I saw photos of my “station wagon” in disassembled condition on your website and realized I hadn’t sent you any recent pictures yet. It’s not in perfect condition, but I’m happy with it – we’ve been together since my youth and have shared many kilometers. Even after an amateur but honest restoration, I hope we’ll still share more adventures together.

Sending a few photos and information about my Škoda 1202 STW from 1961.

This is a car from the first series – according to findings, the oldest in the country (haven’t seen an older one yet).

The vehicle is in original, well-preserved condition. I am the second owner; it has an honest 80,000 km.

The first owner kept it until the age of 80, then had a crash with it.

That’s why the car was repaired and freshly repainted. The interior is original.

Has all the features of this type.

Large hood lettering, single-piece rear bumper, different grille.

Front lights without screw holes, white steering wheel and dashboard.

The first ride of “Evička” after repair and inspection.
Purchased on January 31, 2012, originally from Beroun, later from Hudlice. The original registration from 1952 (Škoda 1200) was later rewritten as Š1202 STW-LUX. The previous owner kept it for 6 years and did many repairs. He named the car “Evička.” It’s now restored, back in operation, and under the care of a new owner who plans a full overhaul and a new blue paint job.

Event 7/2012 – I arrived in the Stejšn and left in the Erťák. Perhaps some ČSAD drivers used to commute like this. These two cars met that day for the first time – hopefully not the last.

I also drive the Škoda 706 RO bus.
