Prototype X

This appears to be an early prototype of the Škoda 1202 STW, featuring several differences from the later production models. Based on the design of the spare wheel cover and other small details, it was likely a development vehicle with some elements still unfinished or under testing.

No roof embossing.

Spare wheel cover opens the opposite way – downward.

Completely different bumper, bold hood emblem without underline, new grille, and indicators with sidelights.

Completely different dashboard, radio, and Vrchlabí logo.

In this detail from a larger photo, the dashboard looks different – its upper edge is flat, not curved as in the interior photo.

It’s a pity that the dashboard eventually went into production so modestly and didn’t retain, for example, the colored lower recess with the radio – although traces of this feature can still be found in production cars.

Fuel cap protrudes without a cover, different braces serving as hinges (not sliding rods + separate hinges).

The spare wheel opening is smaller, and the cover lacks complex locking levers – only two hinges and two stops. Different lights and bumper.

Color transition of front window.

Once again, braces and hinges in one. Horizontal recess on the fender at the arch.

Probably an antenna for the radio.
