Prototype “Armless”
Škoda Spartak modified for armless disabled drivers. I assume it was meant for people with at least some use of their arms. Even so, I can hardly imagine how such a person could move the stiff steering wheel while standing still. Anyway, it’s very interesting and commendable. I don’t know if it ever went into production. Judging by the description and photos, it looks like an improvement proposal by a comrade named Šindler.
From the photos, I noticed these modifications:
- steering wheel filled with a ring (cast plexiglass?),
- ignition box replaced the key with a bent metal rod,
- manual starter + choke replaced by levers,
- hood opening apparently replaced by a ring handle.
