Our Spartak

Year of manufacture 1957, mileage 33,000 km. The car was in excellent original condition – only the paint and chrome were restored. In 2010, it was sold to a happy new owner (we decided to reduce our collection).

In 2016, another owner of this car, Ruth Johnson, contacted us from the United Kingdom. While browsing our website, they were surprised to discover that the vehicle once belonged to us – and reached out to share the story. It’s amazing how small the world is! Their photos can be found in the Spartak / Your Cars section.

Restoration – I decided on a new paint job; the original had many defects. Already stripped, heading to the paint shop.

Gradual restoration – chassis cleaning and anti-corrosion coating, repainting of parts.

After return from paint shop – original two-tone scheme No. 11/9 (beige/carmine red).

My first Spartak (1987) – served as transportation. After selling it, I bought a Škoda 1000 MB. Hard times…

Cavity treatment – work on the car’s underside, anti-corrosion coating. Peeled off later due to cold.

Continuation – after being placed on wheels, the Spartak had excessively cambered wheels.

Continuation – desperate socialist times. For the scrap, I got an Octavia and used it for spare parts.

Continuation – I took the cut-up body to the scrapyard. How else than by Spartak.
