In memorial to parents and ancestors

This section features PEOPLE and ŠKODA vehicles traveling or appearing AROUND THE WORLD.

Below are photos of Škodas from my childhood abroad – from business trips of my father, a fitter and chief assembler of diesel generators, and sometimes with him our entire family. From places not of Western luxury, but from South America, Africa, and the East. I was there as a baby in Argentina and as a boy in Iran. That is, in countries of quite different worlds than Europe.

Our stays of Czechoslovaks in Argentina and Iran were amazing in their community form and also in their connection with the world and with perspective, but they marked me afterwards in Prague with a kind of constant search for home. Fortunately, in recent years, magical Prague has finally become home to me as a whole, and I continue to discover its amazing places, history, spirituality, and friends. That's why I also founded PRAGOS – CULTURAL CENTER and WALKERS' CLUB. However, I still miss community life...

My father's stories about his lifelong travels and especially hard and successful work in often unbelievable conditions, where lives were at stake, would make a very interesting book, which he always platonically prepared, but as a person constantly "on the road" and a workaholic, he never made time for it. Hundreds of slides remain after him, but unfortunately they now lack commentary.

It was the internet and the creation of these websites that motivated me to publish and thus save those stories in connection with ŠKODA vehicles. So while he was still alive, I managed to process at least his journey with the ŠKODA 1000 MB from TEHRAN TO PRAGUE.

I began to further document his journey along the PAN-AMERICAN HIGHWAY in a Škoda through South America, but unfortunately my father also unexpectedly left us in 2006, so most of those personal and therefore unique experiences will no longer be told. The time-consuming conversion of hundreds of slides into "digi-form" is also a problem.

If you also have PHOTOS of Škodas abroad, please send them with commentary.
