The book Škoda 1202, however, takes us back to a time when cars were considered family members and were cared for to serve their owners for decades. Many still gratefully remember the indomitable helpers that the Škoda 1200, 1201 or 1202 estate cars were for them. They also represented significant milestones in the history of our largest carmaker – the Škoda 1200 was the first Škoda with an all-metal body and the Škoda 1202 was the last with a backbone frame, front engine and rear-wheel drive. The book describes in detail the individual models and their various versions. It contains historical details recorded in interviews with witnesses and the previously unpublished career of the estate car in automotive competitions.
